this is my second swallow tattoo, close to another one i have on my lower hip. i like the meaning sailors gave to swallow tattoos. it’s said that the swallows would carry their soul home (or to heaven) in case they die out at sea.
so this pink swallow is for my dear friend nina, who passed away last year. it’s flying close to mine so when my time comes, her swallow can show mine where to find her. 

the lyrics are from paul kalkbrenner’s sky and sand:

the song has always been one of our favourites’ and was also played at the funeral, so it fit in perfectly. i couldn’t be happier with it.
